Preventive Maintenance:

For instance when we talk about Fire Extinguishers AMC,We know Corrosion on the extinguisher’s body can lead to leakage. Hence, the extinguisher is checked for dust deposits and dents. Then, the safety seal is checked to ensure that it is intact and has not been tampered with. Instructions sticker is checked too at this stage. The discharge nozzle is checked to ensure that it is unclogged. After cleaning and removing the dust from the nozzles and hose then valve assembled tightened to ensure no leakage.

Lowered pressure can result in a redundant fire extinguisher. The Service engineers use a special magnetic device to check that the pressure gauge is in perfect working condition.According to the law, and to ensure safety, a CO2 extinguisher must be weighed once every three months to check for leakage. NFPA engineers weigh the extinguisher at your premises on a highly sensitive and very accurate electronic scale that detects the slightest of fluctuations in the extinguisher’s weight.

The extinguisher is then scanned for signs of wear and tear or breakage of components like the Safety seal, the base etc. The materials such as base bottom, rubber parts, hose etc. which are found to have deteriorated over time due to aging or due to over exposure to temperatures and moisture are replaced.
